Numbers from 101 to 1 million in Spanish

For hundreds:

100 - cien

101 to 199 - ciento

200 to 299 - doscientos

300 to 399 - trescientos

400 to 499 - cuatrocientos

500 to 599 - quinientos*

600 to 699 - seiscientos

700 to 799 - setecientos*

800 to 899 - ochocientos

900 to 999 - novecientos*

*Irregular: it doesn't follow the number + cientos pattern

For thousands:

1.000 - mil

2.000 - dos mil

3.000 - tres mil

etc.

For millions:

1.000.000 - un millón

2.000.000 - dos millones

etc.

In most Spanish-speaking countries we use periods instead of commas for thousands.

Hundreds from 200 through 900 have gender in Spanish. When we use them as adjectives, we can either keep them masculine (cuatrocientos dieciséis gatos) or make them feminine (quinientas quince sillas).

We don't add any extra y when using hundreds. For example, 457 would be cuatrocientos cincuenta y siete; it would never be cuatrocientos “y” cincuenta y siete.
