I really enjoyed my class. The instructor was funny, and had great examples to help support different points. It was more casual and friendly, which made it a good environment to learn.

I have taken Spanish with 3 different continuing ed programs and this is the only one that has a plan. I feel that I make progress with conversing with others.

The course was excellent, Rolando is engaging; funny but always focused on the learning. The workbook is a good foundation for learning and the classwork makes it come alive.

Although Level II teaches simple or perfect past tense, past tense reflexive verbs and gerunds, it also introduces many concepts and idioms, such as demonstratives, numbers, dates, weather and time. In other words, it is chock full of the fundamentals.

Good content. Rolando was informative while be entertaining as well. I wish there were some online resources that were available for us to do verbal drills - answering questions, changing tenses, etc.

The presentation of the material is a logical unfolding, a solid method of learning Spanish--and with (mucho) studying in between classes, it can be learned! Rolando could not be better at or more patient in breaking down concepts and explaining how the language "works." He does it with exceptionally good cheer.

I felt like I learned a lot in a short period of time and Nicolas was fantastic! Class was always fun and it always felt like the time flew by. Would definitely take another course if I wasn't relocating out of the country.

A lot of new information to learn. But Nicolas’s class is engaging and fun. It’s a pleasure to attend his evening class even after a long week.

The course was excellent and I recommend Berges Institute to anyone trying to master a new language! It is a comprehensive program with the flexibility that fits into my busy schedule. Thank you for being so professional. If I had questions, Victor responded immediately. I appreciated the emails, the reminders, helpful hints, and notification of classroom location change. Nicholas is a great teacher!

This course was a wonderful way to take your beginning learnings and truly build off them to be able to better understand and speak Spanish. Juan Carlos was a patient, thoughtful teacher who made sure to tailor class lessons so they resonate with students. A great way to boost your Level 1 insights!

I liked the class, but stopped going early on because the time was simply too late (8:30 - 10pm). Nicolas was great. One thing that made me also not want to continue was the amount of time spent reviewing homework. It would take up ~half the class at times.

Very informative and thorough teacher, and class overall. I loved Karen and the energy she brought to class every week - she created a comfortable and fun environment where I wasn't afraid to make mistakes. Most importantly, I definitely feel like I made process through this class and feel more comfortable speaking than I did prior. Thank you!!!

The curriculum is well organized and kept us advancing through the structures of the language while simultaneously introducing vocabulary by themes. Our instructor was excellent, helping us all to understand the structures and at the same time encouraging participation by all.

As an undergraduate, I had a minor in French. I took four years of university French language and conversation. With the exception of those classes being Monday through Friday, there was nothing about them that excelled in anyway over my experience at the Berges Institute. My instructor was exceptionally well informed, a talented instructor and most importantly very personable and funny. I cannot recommend him enough.

I enjoyed Rolando’s teaching style and had a great time in the class - so much so that now I’m continuing with Spanish 3! The students and the teacher were excited to learn and fun to be around. However, I would have appreciated more opportunity to speak in Spanish with other students in order to practice conversational skills.

I really enjoyed the class. The instructor was energetic and engaging, and seemed to really care about students' understanding. I enjoyed how the class time was spent mostly practicing our Spanish and less about book work or instruction. I feel like my Spanish improved significantly from this class.

I tested for Level II but felt unprepared. I needed more information at lower level and because the class moves quickly with the introduction of new material and past tense verbs, I started to get lost I also was more available to study the first 4 weeks, but got busy with work later and lost study time and class time. I tried but in the end not enough. Class was explained very well- and clearly by Elena and Sylvia. I felt they were under pressure to cover a lot including homework in 1.5 hours. I would have preferred a two hour class and lots more practice. But I didn't do my share but really enjoyed it .

I started taking classes because nothing else seemed to suit my learning style (apps and immersion only went so far!). This class has been a revelation and has helped me communicate with my partner and her family in their native language. Looking forward to completing all five levels!
