Please keep in mind that those of us who are not fluent in Spanish often need the instructor (and students) to slow down, to try to pronounce and enunciate clearly, and to accept the fact that the pace will not be natural and the voice should project more than usual. Rushing and stumbling over words and phrases in giving answers to homework assignments is not at all helpful. If the instructor asks questions and they are not understood, it may help to repeat the words more slowly or to paraphrase using new words. PATIENCE is a necessity for everyone in the course. In fact, we learn quite a bit from one another's mistakes, especially when they are carefully corrected. All it takes for an auditor of a foreign language is for ONE word to be unclear and the whole sentence may be a problem. Verb endings are especially important--we need to HEAR them clearly to identify the subject, tense, and gist of the meaning. Can Berges make it clear to all instructors that learning improves when these principles are applied? Please do. Thank you.

I enjoy the Graf learning method. Eva is a wonderful teacher. For the first time in my life, I believe I might actually be able to understand and speak a foreign language. I have a lot more to learn, but this is a good place to start.

The course was a great next step in learning. Learning the imperfect tense and its uses cases was helpful and the additional vocabulary and grammar picked up during the course was great.

I think the course was great. It had the right amount of information so not to overwhelm students. I enjoyed it and looking forward to level 4. Gracias a todos

Online was a great way to learn on the go. We mostly went over imperfect tense and had conversations in Spanish. I could see and hear the two other students as well as the instructor. Any awkwardness was due occasionally to the BlueJean.com app connection.

The content of the class (level 3) was very usual overall in understanding the imperfect tense and other grammar rules such as por vs para. I would say that this class should support a person's learning process, and that if someone is planning to take the class (or any level class) they should plan to be working on Spanish outside the classroom as well- to truly begin to grasp the language.

This level was particularly difficult for me, as I felt like this was the point at which my brain had a harder time digesting the material of the class and the ones before. Having the entire class taught in spanish both verbally and in the workbooks kicked it up a notch as well. Our instructor, as always, was extremely patient with all of us. This is the main reason why I love taking classes at Berges... it gives you that ability to ask as many questions as necessary and it also provides context you won't get from online courses (e.g. spanish idioms - and which english idioms do not translate, slang that was heard but we didn't know it was slang, etc.). I definitely plan on taking all levels.

The book is easy to carry and the content is informative. The activities are challenging but in a helpful way that encourages learning.

I thought the course covered the right amount of material. The pace is pretty fast for someone learning the material for the first time, but it's a review for me so it worked pretty well. The instructor was humorous and personable. However, what I didn't enjoy was spending 60 minutes out of 90 to listen to the rest of the students talk about their weekends or respond to their homework assignments. A good number of students spoke at a very basic level and did not belong in Level 3. So we spent a lot of time correcting Level 1-type mistakes. While the class was helpful, I feel my time would be better invested in another way.
