The books and lessons made the grammar fairly straight forward. The texts in the book were sometimes a bit strange (particularly the fables and stories), but overall they were helpful in putting the grammar in context.

Nicholas was a great instructor. My fiancé and I took the level 3 and 4 classes with him. He made the classes very entertaining, and he did a great job of making it a comfortable environment for even the most shy students. I definitely noticed a difference over the past 20 weeks, and even more so by the end of this level. At the beginning, the two of us could barely speak Spanish at all, and even then, only about things in the present tense. However, somewhere along the way we found ourselves speaking Spanish todo el tiempo. My only suggestion is that you keep adding more classes!

The classes have limited participants and there is room for questions. This was the 4th level of Berges Institute that I have participated in and I will continue to level 5. I would recommend Berges to anyone who wants to learn Spanish.

The course is excellent. What was most valuable was the conversations that we had during class, fostered by a wonderful teacher who was patient and corrected gently when we may have misspoke.

This is my second course with Berges. I came back to Berges for two reasons: the pedagogy and the teachers themselves. The pedagogy: There is a strong emphasis here on understanding and deconstructing grammar, which is what I find most useful in having an actual teacher (versus a book or an app). At the same time, there is also a focus on conversation, with opportunities for students to talk about what they did over the weekend, current events, etc. all en español, which is what is most useful about learning with other people (versus a book, an app, or even private lessons). The teachers: Even though I've only taken classes with two different teachers, I've also had other teachers as subs and when taking makeup classes. So I've been exposed to five different teachers from Berges now, and they were all very approachable and seem to genuinely enjoy teaching.

The curriculum works to teach Spanish language skill and to answer questions so that it makes sense.

The course is well taught. Each class builds nicely on the last class. And we have conversation in class that helps with conversation skills.

needs more balance; too much grim on direct and indirect object. also, introducing the future perfect without the subjunctive was confusing.

I found the course very interesting as well as EXTREMELY well taught. I will most definitely take another course(s) at the Berges Institute.

Rolando took over from Nickolas and it was seamless. Both are great teachers, very animated. R writes more on the board which is very helpful . Like them both very much.

I love the small class sizes and general structure of the classes. The classes flow easily and the time passes quickly - and before you even realize it, you've learned a lot of new information.

Vanessa was very clear with the information. I enjoyed having her as a teacher and feel like our time in class was used to its greatest potential. The scheduling around the holidays made it a little uneven at times, but I understand that that couldn't be helped. Nicolas was a substitute for one class and that was a really good experience as well. Having a sub was a nice way to reinforce the information, and Nicolas is very passionate about Spanish.
