I truly was an absolute beginner, but was never made to feel that way. I felt comfortable participating, asking questions and making more than my share of mistakes. We had some laughs and I learned some espanol. The Saturday offering was convenient for me as I came in from New Jersey every week.

I liked that the course was aimed at adults, and that we learned about systems that we could apply (rather than just phrases to repeat). The learning was well paced with a good amount of homework each week.

Never before have I taken a foreign language course (outside of standard high school classes), so I don't have anything to compare to my Berges experience. That being said, I am impressed with the teaching logic employed. Within the first class, we were learning to construct complete sentences. I felt like we really dove into things from the onset, instead of learning in a more tedious fashion. I look forward to moving up to Level 2!

Very helpful! I learned a bit of Spanish in high school but it was very unhelpful compared to this class!

I really liked the course. Dan had unique way of teaching wherein we would revise homework with conversing with each other in Spanish. I feel strongly that I have strong fundamentals in Spanish basics after the course.

Really like the instructor. Great personality and very good at teaching. Also like the progression of the material. However, I find that the homeworks can be a bit repetitive and distract/take time away from the course itself, which can result in a slower pace.

The course taught us the Spanish alphabet and helped us to be able to talk about ourselves, friends and family as well as things that please us and don't please us. We also learned time and the numbers.

I absolutely loved this class. The small class size make for an excellent learning environment. It allows the class to be engaging and interactive - much needed when learning a language. The structure of the program is very straightforward. I am amazed how much I've learned in such a short period of time. The homework assignments are very helpful and truly solidify the knowledge base. I really liked that the instructor explained the different rules between Spain and Latin America. He explained how native speakers use the language.

I love the way the course is taught, we are forced to make sentences and to interact in Spanish with partners. Jose makes the course fun, and that is really important when learning a new language. If you have a question, he will take the time to stop the lesson and answer your question.

I liked the approach--quite different from the last course I took. I found it effective. I thought Julia was great.
