Frequently asked questions

I need to handle customer calls right away. How quickly can I start?

Most students can handle basic customer service conversations within 10-15 months of consistent study. While you won't be fluent immediately, you'll build the foundation needed for customer interactions, which you can then adapt to your specific products and services.

Do you provide scripts for common customer service situations?

We teach conversational Spanish rather than specific scripts. However, once you're conversational, you'll be able to adapt your company's scripts and procedures to Spanish, or create natural responses to customer needs without relying on rigid scripts.

What if I don't understand a customer or they speak too quickly?

We teach you how to handle real conversations, including how to politely ask for clarification or repetition. Our instructors expose you to various speaking speeds and accents during class, preparing you for real-world customer interactions.

Can our customer service team learn together?

Yes, if you have multiple team members at similar Spanish levels, we can arrange group classes. Learning together can help build shared vocabulary and create a more bilingual customer service culture.

So far, I have had a great experience with the Berges Institute and my teacher Claudia! The course for beginners is well paced and small classes allow for lots of conversation practice. Claudia is very patient and covers material thoroughly, practicing key vocab and rules until we understand.

I did not realize this was an online zoom course; and the course was ultimately cancelled and I couldn't choose another option as none of them worked with my schedule. The actual course is good and functioned as expected. There was no demand to actually do the homework; so it felt like it was too easy to cruise through, though. which is my one complaint about the actual class.

Some teachers did a better job of speaking more in Spanish than others. But consistency is good amongst courses.

The course material was presented in an easy-to-follow manner. I learned at a nice pace and never felt confused or overwhelmed. The instructor explained the nuances of the language (for example, when to use ser vs estar). This is not an easy concept to learn from an app! The end result is that the grammatical rules make sense. I loved it!

This is an amazing course, I have learned so much! I have tried several different teachers throughout and all did an excellent job of teaching. Highly recommend whether you have any experience or not.

I liked the course. It's structured so that you learn enough to start conversing right away which is important to me as speaking is where I struggle the most. The homework is challenging but not too much. I can just do a little bit every day.

Great course with great instructors! The Berges Graf Method just works. The beginning course is heavy on grammar and vocabulary and is conducted in English. There are 10 units in the curriculum, and a homework assignment at the end of each unit that is reviewed at the following lesson. The instructors go above and beyond the class materials and make the class interesting. The classes are online and small (up to 5 people) and the instructors get all the students involved. Highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed Nelson's beginner Spanish class! I was a little skeptical about learning Spanish virtually but could not have been more surprised and pleased with the classes! Nelson was AMAZING!! He made the learning fun and engaging - and was extremely patient (which I appreciated!) Would highly recommend this course - would highly recommend Nelson!

The material is similar to any you might encounter in a typical language course but the instructor(s) really were the ones to make it come alive. In the beginning, before the group and the instructor got to know each other well, a lot of time was spent going over the correct answers to the homework, which reduced the amount of time to focus ahead if homework concepts were clear with the whole group. As time progressed and the instructor got to know the group better, the homework review became more dynamic and engaging. I think this was more due to the structure of the lesson than the instructor. The book and other course material was very good and the support and flexibility from the organization was great.

I enjoyed the class with Maria, she was always very cheerful and by reviewing the class work and homework the class stayed organized and the 90 minutes went by quickly and I was never bored. Also I liked the way she utilized the screen share to review the materials. She also made sure everyone was engaged by calling on everyone to answers questions and participate.
