Frequently asked questions

We teach conversational Spanish through grammar and sentence-building rather than interview coaching. However, once you have conversational fluency, you'll be able to discuss your background, answer questions, and express yourself confidently - all essential interview skills. The grammar foundation lets you construct professional responses naturally.
This depends on your starting level and the interview's language requirements. If you need intermediate conversational ability, plan for 12-24 months of study. For basic interview skills, 10-15 months might suffice. We recommend assessing your target level and planning accordingly.
Conversational fluency is the foundation for all professional Spanish, including interviews. Once you're conversational, you can discuss your work history, skills, and career goals. Industry-specific vocabulary is easier to learn once you have this conversational base.
We teach general conversational Spanish. Once you're conversational, you can more easily learn and use industry-specific terms. Many students supplement our classes with vocabulary lists specific to their field.

I really liked the course I took through Berges. It made me feel like I had a better base level of understanding the present tense and certain verbs we use in the language over and over again. My instructor Karen was a great teacher and was so patient with us throughout the course.

I enjoyed this class very much. I took Spanish in high school and I feel as if I learned more in the 10 weeks I took this class than I did throughout the first year of Spanish. It was accessible location wise, the homework was not too excessive, and I felt comfortable making mistakes and learning in the class. The instructor was easy to ask questions to and always helpful. I also appreciated the seamless way the course shifted to online learning due to the COVID-19 crisis. I will be taking Beginner's Level 2 with the same instructor and hope to stay with the institute for a while.

The course was excellent. I studied French for many years, but had no formal instruction in Spanish. I knew some words and phrases that I had learned from friends or from using apps and online self-study programs. The course pulled everything together by helping me to understand the grammar and have confidence that I was saying things correctly. I saw a huge improvement in my ability to read and understand Spanish. I also enjoyed the learning environment. Even though the course was online, I enjoyed the interaction with fellow students. I highly recommend this course.
