I have wanted to learn Spanish for a long time but I have a time-consuming job and a busy lifestyle. I appreciated that I could learn online with Berges, and also that the beginner class wasn’t super expensive so I could try it without risk. Even with very little time to study, I was shocked at how much I have learned. I still make mistakes in certain areas, but I feel like even now I could at least understand and speak enough Spanish to muddle through. My teacher was Gaston, and he explained things very well!

The material is very relevant and interesting, but the pace is too fast. There is so much information in one session, it is a little difficult to absorb it all. The homework is helpful in reviewing what was learned in the session, but some weeks there is so much homework it can take hours - This is not helpful when you work full-time and have a family to look after and then have to find the time to do so much homework - less would be more helpful.
I have had a number of different instructors and I have to say they have all been great.

These classes have been wonderful! I've done duolingo for years and this class actually has me forming sentences already! The instructors are very good and I love how much time we get learning, speaking, and listening. Ots a huge help. My schedule is also chaotic and I can rearrange or reschedule classes which makes it actually attainable for me to stick with.b

How long does it take to learn Spanish with Berges?
Most students become conversational after completing five levels (about 12-15 months of regular classes).
I've never studied Spanish before. Is this right for me?
Yes! We designed our Beginners level specifically for people with zero Spanish experience.
Will I be embarrassed in class as a beginner?
No. All Beginners students start at zero. Our instructors create a supportive environment where making mistakes is part of learning.
How is this different from Spanish apps?
We teach grammar rules first, then practice. Apps make you guess patterns. Our method is faster for adults.
Do you teach Castilian or Latin American Spanish?
Spanish is one language with regional differences (mostly accent and a handful of everyday words). We teach standard Spanish, so what you learn works wherever Spanish is spoken.
Are classes recorded?
No. Classes are live only, which protects everyone's privacy and keeps students comfortable speaking up.
Do I need to keep my camera on?
Yes. Classes are live and interactive. Your instructor and classmates need to see you, just as you see them.
How old do I need to be to enroll?
Our classes are for adults. If you're 16 or 17, you can enroll as long as a parent or legal guardian accepts our terms on your behalf.
