Spanish classes in Parma

The teacher was excellent. Good pronunciation help and did a nice job explaining topics. However, he consistently started the class 5 to 10 minutes late because his other class ended too soon to make it on time (not his fault—this is on Berges). Also, because we reviewed the homework so much each class, we didn’t have as much time to learn new topics and practice conversation. I would’ve preferred just receiving the answers via email and having 20 minutes to ask questions about it (and then focusing on new topics). Also, I was sad to see that the teacher was substituted on the last 2 days of the class. This was frustrating.

I took a class in person in 2015, and now I am living across the country and am fortunate to take a class again from you all. I think the approach is simple and I am able to learn quickly. I think the style can be a little stagnant, but it’s important to lay down that ground work before one moves on. The Graf approach is very simple.

The course went very well because of the instructor as well as because of the framework for learning that is embedded in the materials. Andres is an excellent teacher. He respects students, clarifies what are sometimes complex grammar issues through his explanations, and supports and encourages everyone. The syllabus and materials are organized in ways that 1) support the development of deep understanding of the structures of the language as well as 2) provide opportunities for reading, writing, speaking and listening. I look forward to the next level.
