Mayra Olmedo was born in the beautiful garden city of Maracay, Venezuela, where she lived the majority of her early years before eventually moving to Caracas to pursue her chemical engineering degree at Universidad Central de Venezuela, and where she also received a Teaching Certificate at Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador.

She is a very passionate person that enjoys traveling and experiencing new things. As part of her journey, she lived for a few years in Ecuador, where she was able to immerse herself in a new culture. She likes to take part in activities that complement her profession, and that’s why besides her engineering work she has dedicated a portion of her life to teaching and transmitting her knowledge to others.

Since she came to the United States she has always enjoyed the opportunity to teach her mother tongue to anyone of any cultural background, helping others embark on the beautiful ship that learning Spanish is.

Mayra is a coffee fanatic, and she also likes to indulge in a variety of gastronomies from around the world, without ever forgetting her beloved arepas that make her feel at home everywhere she goes.
