Originally from Madrid, Spain, Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from Barnard College, Columbia University. She loves learning about other cultures through their languages and art, and finding out how these relate to a place’s unique history.

When she is not teaching, Laura can be found designing or making art, planning her next vacation, or reading. Her favorite book is Gabriel García Marquez’s 1967 novel Cien años de soledad. On her last trip, she visited Oaxaca, Mexico, and she loved it; she is currently planning one to South America.
